Starting At
$379
Meta is rolling out its biggest software update of 2026 for Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses, adding features that push smart glasses deeper into daily life. The spring/summer update includes nutrition tracking, WhatsApp summaries, neural handwriting, and display recording.
Nutrition Tracking
Say "Hey Meta, log my lunch" or snap a photo of your plate, and Meta AI extracts nutritional details — calories, macros, and portion estimates — and logs them in the Meta AI app. Over time, the food log powers personalized insights. Available to US users 18+ on Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses, with Meta Ray-Ban Display support coming this summer.
WhatsApp Summaries
Ask "Hey Meta, catch me up on my messages" for a concise summary of group chats, or ask for specifics like "What did Jamie suggest for dinner?" All processing happens on-device with end-to-end encryption. Currently rolling out via the Early Access Program.
Neural Handwriting
Meta Ray-Ban Display users can now write with a finger on any surface to compose messages silently — working across Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and native messaging apps. This feature uses EMG (electromyography) sensing to detect finger movements.
What This Means for Buyers
These updates make Ray-Ban Meta significantly more useful for everyday tasks. At $379 on Amazon, the glasses keep getting better through free software updates. For privacy-conscious buyers who prefer no camera, the Even Realities G1 with its Even Hub app ecosystem is a solid alternative. Compare options in our smart glasses guide.
