Oura Partners with ResMed to Connect Sleep Apnea Symptoms to Clinical Care
Oura Ring members who show elevated nighttime breathing disturbances can now access ResMed's sleep apnea education tools, assessments, and provider referrals directly from the Oura app. The partnership bridges consumer wearables and clinical sleep medicine.

Oura Ring Gen 4
The smart ring that started it all — best-in-class sleep tracking, readiness scores, and health insights in a sleek titanium design.
Starting At
$349
Oura and ResMed, a global leader in sleep and respiratory care, have launched a partnership that connects Oura Ring wearers with clinical-grade sleep apnea resources — a first for the smart ring category.
How It Works
The Oura Ring measures both respiration rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) throughout the night. Members who show a higher number of nighttime breathing disturbances will now see a prompt in the Oura app connecting them to ResMed resources:
- Educational materials about obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
- Sleep assessments to evaluate symptoms
- Provider connections to independent healthcare professionals
- Discussion guides for conversations with existing doctors
Why It Matters
An estimated 936 million adults worldwide have obstructive sleep apnea, but up to 80% remain undiagnosed. According to ResMed's 2026 Global Sleep Survey, 53% of adults now track their sleep with wearables — up from 16% in 2025. This partnership bridges the gap between the data consumers collect and the clinical care they need.
What This Means for Buyers
The ResMed integration adds genuine clinical utility to the Oura Ring ($349 on Amazon), making the mandatory $5.99/month subscription easier to justify. With Oura Ring 5 launching May 28, the software ecosystem continues to be Oura's strongest moat. Compare all smart rings in our smart ring guide.
