Galaxy Watch 9 Health AI Features Leak: Vitals Dashboard Combines Five Metrics, Heart Health Score Added
New leaks ahead of July 22 Unpacked reveal the Galaxy Watch 9's health AI capabilities in detail. A new Vitals feature combines heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen into a single dashboard. Heart Health Score uses sleep, stress, activity, and body composition data to track cardiovascular wellness over time. Both features run on One UI 9 Watch, which Samsung has already begun beta-testing on existing Galaxy Watch 8 hardware.

With Samsung Unpacked less than a week away, new leaks have revealed the Galaxy Watch 9's health AI capabilities in detail — and they suggest Samsung is making a major push into consolidated health intelligence rather than just adding new sensors.
Vitals: Five Metrics, One Dashboard
The headline feature is Vitals, which combines five key health metrics into a single daily dashboard:
- Heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Respiratory rate
- Skin temperature
- Blood oxygen (SpO2)
Vitals compares your daily readings against your personal baseline, highlighting deviations that might indicate illness, poor recovery, or elevated stress — similar to what Oura and Whoop have offered, but now built into Samsung's ecosystem.
Heart Health Score
A new Heart Health Score feature tracks cardiovascular wellness over time by analyzing sleep quality, stress levels, physical activity, and body composition data. This goes beyond the existing ECG and blood pressure features, aiming to give users a single number that reflects overall heart health trends.
One UI 9 Watch Beta Already Running
Samsung has already begun beta-testing One UI 9 Watch (based on Wear OS 7) on existing Galaxy Watch 8 hardware, confirming that at least some of these features will be software updates rather than Watch 9 exclusives. The beta is currently limited to Samsung employees and developers.
What This Means for Buyers
The Vitals dashboard and Heart Health Score position the Galaxy Watch 9 as a more holistic health platform rather than just a notification relay. Combined with the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, the Watch 9 shapes up as Samsung's most meaningful smartwatch upgrade in years. Pre-orders open July 22 — compare it to the Apple Watch Series 11 at $299 and Pixel Watch 3 at $247 in our smartwatch guide.
