Samsung may offer a more affordable entry point to its rugged smartwatch lineup. According to Sammy Fans, Samsung is developing a Bluetooth-only variant of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in addition to the headline 5G model — a first for the Ultra line.
Two SKUs Expected
- Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 (5G): Samsung's first smartwatch with built-in 5G connectivity, expected at ~$699
- Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 (Bluetooth): A cheaper variant without cellular connectivity, potentially priced at ~$549-599
Shared Upgrades
- Snapdragon Wear Elite: Built on 3nm process, with dedicated AI processing for Samsung Health features
- Wear OS 7: One UI 9 Watch with Gemini AI widgets and Health Index scoring
- Satellite connectivity: NB-NTN support for emergency messaging (5G model)
- Blood pressure monitoring: Now FDA-cleared for Galaxy Watch 4 and newer
What This Means for Buyers
A Bluetooth-only Ultra 2 at ~$549 would undercut the Apple Watch Ultra 3 ($610 on Amazon) significantly while matching or exceeding its rugged specs. If you don't need cellular, this could be the best value premium smartwatch of 2026. The current Galaxy Watch Ultra ($639) remains a solid buy if you can't wait until July 22.
