Vuzix wrapped its exhibit at SID Display Week 2026 in Los Angeles (May 3–8) with a compelling lineup of three AI-driven smart glasses that tackle one of the biggest barriers to adoption: prescription compatibility.

• Ultralite Pro: An OEM reference platform designed for partners to build branded smart glasses with Vuzix waveguide technology. Features adaptive prescription-ready push-pull waveguides.
• LX1: A new enterprise-focused model with integrated photochromic and electrochromic (EC) lenses that adapt to changing light conditions — dimming automatically outdoors and brightening indoors.
• Z100: Vuzix's consumer flagship at $499 with 48-hour battery life, weighing just 38 grams — comparable to standard eyeglasses. Features heads-up waveguide display, Bluetooth, and AI assistant integration via the Vuzix Connect app.

Prescription-Ready Waveguides

The standout innovation is Vuzix's new prescription-ready push-pull waveguide solution, developed in partnership with optical specialists. This lets users slot in their prescription lenses without losing AR display quality — a meaningful step toward making smart glasses practical for the estimated 75% of adults who need vision correction.

Partner Demonstrations

Rayprus demonstrated a next-generation full-color uLED xCube light engine integrated with a Vuzix waveguide, while Redoxlens showcased electrochromic lenses with visible light transmission ranging from 80% down to 20% with patented multi-level tint control.

Prescription compatibility has been a major gap in the smart glasses market.
