XREAL has released a major software update for the Air 2 Ultra AR glasses, adding over 50 spatial games and a handful of productivity apps to its growing ecosystem.
Standout titles include a spatial chess game, an AR tower defense game that uses your actual room layout, and a fitness app that projects workout instructions into your space. There's also a new "Desktop Mode" that creates a virtual multi-monitor setup using just the glasses and your phone.
The update also improves the 6DoF tracking, which means virtual objects now stay locked in place more reliably as you move your head. This was one of our biggest complaints in our original review.
At $449, the XREAL Air 2 Ultra sits in a unique spot — more affordable than the Apple Vision Pro but significantly more capable than basic smart glasses. If you're interested in AR but not ready for a multi-thousand-dollar headset, XREAL is the sweet spot.
